“A Message to Our Youth”

My Dear Young People of St. Julia,
It wasn’t that long ago that some of you participated in the activities together with the seminarians that visited our parish. Some of you are also serving the parish community as Lectors at our Sunday Masses. I want to tell you that I am very proud of you for having participated in the discussions and activities together with the seminarians and also for serving the parish family as Lectors. I hope that many more of you will come forward and serve our parish family I write to you this week because I want you to know that I am doing everything I can to create a youth ministry here at St. Julia for you. It is my hope that I will soon be able to announce to you that we have a director of youth ministry together with a team that will make it possible for you to enjoy many opportunities here at St. Julia. I am aware that some of you told the seminarians that you would like to have a youth group in the parish. I heard you and I am paying attention to you. Please pray that we will soon be able to create fun and meaningful experiences for you in our parish. I look forward to having a group of adolescent girls and boys and a group of young adults. I am presently working things out with some adults in the parish to make sure that this happens soon.
In the meantime, I want to share with you again, that you are very important to me and to our parish family. I respect you and appreciate you in every way I possibly can. You are important to all of us in the here and now, and not just for the future. I know that you have much to offer the community too and I look forward to the day when you join one of these groups. It is my hope that many good experiences will come about as we create a dynamic and fun youth ministry here at St. Julia. Next week I will share more with you.
You are all in my prayers always. I see you when you come to church and every time I see you, you put a smile on my face. May God bless you always.
You are in my prayers and in my heart. Peace. -Friar Julio
