The Synodal Path
Two weeks ago, Pope Francis opened a new chapter in the history of our Catholic Church. It is called “The Synodal Path.” This is a process which will take place in the Catholic Church throughout the world.

Our parish community represents the heart of God in this world. All of us, no matter how many times we come here, draw near in the hope of feeling the presence of God. Whether the presence of God becomes a reality in our parish depends a lot on all of us. We cannot escape this reality. God is present in this world through each one of us.
May God bless us and protect us as we go forward in the midst of the pandemic. Let us never let our guard down as we strive to return to a more normal state.
Right now, on social media there are some people that are communicating some really strange misinformation about the reception of the Eucharist at Mass. There are some that state that receiving Communion on the hand is a sin, even a mortal sin.
I can hear Jesus laughing as he says: “If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off!” How have you read this story over the years? I bet you have only pictured him saying this with a strict look on his face.
Here I go again. I feel like a broken record. So be it!
“When the church hears the cry of the oppressed, it cannot but denounce the social structures That give rise to and perpetuate the misery from which the cry arises.” Bishop Oscar Romero of El Salvador – Martyr
We, in union with Jesus, are the mystical body of Christ. We!
When one rejoices, we all rejoice. When one suffers, we all suffer. Such is the union that Jesus desires for us to have.
Culture does indeed matter. It contributes greatly to who we are because it incorporates the characteristic features of our everyday existence, especially during our formative years. We are raised in it, we develop in it, and our self-identity is greatly influenced by it.
Soon our parish web page will be launched and I believe that all of us will be pleasantly surprised with how wonderful it will be. We have a team working on it. It will also give the parish office to keep everyone on a daily basis of the various events of our parish family.
